Linen doesn't lie. It shows every careless seam — and rewards every careful one.

The JACOMO Shirt is a slow fashion men's shirt pattern for makers who understand that the best wardrobe pieces aren't bought. They're built, broken in, and kept.

Cut from linen, the JACOMO gets better with age. The fabric softens. The fit settles into your body. The shirt becomes yours in a way that nothing off a rack ever will.

✦ WHAT SETS THE JACOMO APART

This isn't a generic shirt block with a linen suggestion tacked on. The JACOMO is drafted specifically for how linen behaves - its drape, its weight, its particular way of holding a collar or falling from a shoulder.

→ Full size range, seriously drafted - XS through XXL, graded for proportion, not just scaled up

→ Two-way versatility in a single cut - wears equally well tucked into trousers or loose over them

→ Construction built for natural fibre - seaming and interfacing choices that work with linen's character, not against it

✦ DIFFICULTY: Confident Intermediate

Collar construction, sleeve setting, buttonholes - you should be comfortable with these before you start. The instructions are detailed enough that you'll spend your energy on quality, not on working out what comes next.

✦ CHOOSE YOUR FABRIC

Fabric / Why it works

Linen - Textured, cooling, improves with every wash (our top pick)

Linen-cotton blend - Softer hand, less prone to creasing

Cotton poplin - Crisp and lightweight, polished finish

Chambray or Oxford - Hardwearing, relaxed, details read cleanly

Avoid thin, flimsy, or stretchy fabrics - they work against collar and placket construction.

Yardage (60" / 150 cm wide):

  • Main fabric: approx. 1.8–2.2 m depending on size
  • Interfacing: approx. 60 cm (collar, cuffs, placket)
  • Buttons: 7–8 × approx. 1 cm

✦ SEW WITH INTENTION

At MUNA Patterns, we draft for people who think about what they make and why. Linen is biodegradable, low-impact, and built to outlast the brands that ignore it. The JACOMO is a pattern for a shirt you'll still be wearing in ten years - and glad you made it yourself.
