Sewing level: Intermediate. This pattern requires experience working with stretch fabrics, elastic casing, and bias tape application. This is not a first-project pattern.

This pattern requires stretch or knit fabric. Woven fabric will not work. The garment needs fabric with enough stretch to fit the body correctly. Swimwear-weight or lingerie fabric is recommended.

A serger or overlock machine is strongly advised. A standard straight stitch will not hold on stretch fabric under wear. A stretch stitch or serger is required for a lasting result.

Check the size chart before purchasing. Sizing standards vary by region. Please review the chart in the photo gallery before buying — hip and waist measurements are the key reference for this pattern.

What you will make

The Wake Up Star is a men's T-back thong with a clean, minimal silhouette. It is finished with bias elastic tape at all edges and elastic at the waistband. The result is a close-fitting, well-constructed piece built to last through many wears and washes.

A note on printing

Pattern files are edgeless by design — a minimal-waste choice in keeping with our slow fashion approach. If your printer applies margins, some lines may appear incomplete at page edges; this is not an error. The instruction book walks you through exactly how to complete them.
